Buying a house in 2015?
3 legal top tips
Three Top Legal Tips
249 houses have been sold in Donegal in the first quarter of 2015. Now is the time to think about buying a home and hare are three top legal tips we know will help.
Loan Approval
Have your mortgage approval in place - when you find a property you like, you must get formal mortgage approval before you can sign a contract for the purchase of a house.
Find a Solicitor
Your lending institution and the estate agent will ask you for your solicitor details so that they can send out the mortgage documents and contracts for sale. If you have any queries when you are looking at houses such as rights of ways or boundaries we can assist.
Survey
A seller is under no obligation to disclose any defects in a property. It is a case of “buyer beware”. You should engage a qualified and insured surveyor/engineer to carry out a structural survey of your house before signing contracts to find out if there are any defects in the property or the boundaries.
